A short brief from a few public pages
Company Brief
Company Brief is a tool for the first call. Paste a company name and a public URL. It reads a few public pages and fills a one-pager: what they offer, who it is for, proof, hiring, gaps, and sources.
I built it as its own FastAPI app so the API key and fetching stay off the static site. Two model calls run on purpose. One picks which links matter. One extracts a fixed JSON schema. A template draws the page. The model does not choose the layout.
The split screen is the product. Form and recent briefs on the left. The paper on the right fills with a real company, the pages it kept, and the sourced rows.

While a brief is building, the paper shows the run: homepage, link pick, page fetch, then the longer write step. It only reads pages anyone can open without logging in. JavaScript-heavy sites and bot walls often fail. That is expected.

The result is the paper: offer, audience, proof, hiring, gaps, and sources. Gaps stay honest when the public site does not say. Sources are the real pages. You can download the same brief as Markdown, or print it, without calling the API again.

History lives in that browser, not on the server. Opening an old brief or paging the ledger does not call the API. If generation is down, the last stored result for that URL still opens.
